NYC FASHION WEEK

New York City Fashion Week!

It all started with a photo shoot. As soon as my photo shoot launching my "spring looks" with Bella Thorne, I packed my bags as fast as an olympic swimmer swooshes through the lane. I hurried to the airport and got on the plane. I was going to the "Big Apple", also known as New York City!

I was so excited to step onto the plane in my fabulous boots, I mean, they were just so Fashion- Week ready. Being invited to Fashion-Week in New York City meant one thing: Fashion Shows.

Walking into Bryant Park made my heart jump for joy, just like a watch continues to tick. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw my very own name placed directly in the second row of the fashion show.

I was so thrilled to be able to sit in the second row of New York Fashion Week. I could hardly believe that I, Cecilia Cassini, just 10 years old, was sitting next to some of the most famous people in the Fashion World such as; Brooke Shields, the editor of Teen Vogue Magazine, the publisher of Vogue Magazine and an editor for Vanity Fair, Italia.

My dream has finally come true!

Of the many shows I saw, I loved : Tdashi, Perry Elis, Thuy, Perry Ellis and Carlos Miele.

Brights! Gold! Black! Gorgeous stuff. I kept pinching my mom, asking her to take me directly to the fabric stores in NYC. I was so inspired! I was begging to get some fabric and a machine!

I was as happy as a little kid would be to running around in a candy shop! I couldn't believe I was actually sitting there seeing the amazing new fashions walk down the runway. The new collections that I saw gave me more creative ideas than I have ever had before!

Leaving New York City will make me sad but at the same time, I can't wait to get back home to start on my New York-inspired Collection.

I will never forget my trip to New York City Fashion Week!

CENTRAL PARK

NYC IS AMAZING!!!!!! I LOVE IT HERE!

AFTER RUNNING THROUGH A FEW FASHION SHOWS IN THE MORNING, I GOT TO HANG OUT A BIT IN THE CITY BEFORE HEADING BACK TO BRYANT PARK FOR SOME MORE FASHION!!!!!!

OF COURSE A GYRO ON THE STREET! WHO HAS TIME TO SIT FOR LUNCH IN NYC!

ROCKEFELLER CENTER, FIFTH AVENUE, TIMES SQUARE, MADISON AVENUE, CENTRAL PARK!

WE MET BACK UP WITH THE PRODUCERS AND TOOK A HORSE CARRIAGE RIDE THROUGH CENTRAL PARK! OMG... IT WAS SO FUN! THE BEST PART WAS JUMPING OFF AND PLAYING IN THE SNOW FOR A FEW MINUTES! I GUESS I SHOULD WEAR SNOW BOOTS NEXT TIME - BUT THAT WOULD RUIN MY OUTFIT!

I LOVE NYC!

BESIDES IT BEING MY FIRST SHOW EVER, IT WAS TRULY AMAZING. SITTING IN THE SECOND ROW WITH A ZILLION FASHIONISTAS LIKE ME! WE WAITED A LONG TIME FOR THE SHOW TO BEGIN AND I HAD FUN LOOKING AT EVERYONE AROUND ME - YOU KNOW I LIKE TO LOOK AT WHAT PEOPLE ARE WEARING!

FINALLY THE SHOW BEGAN AND WOW! I MEAN WOW!

I LOVED HIS COLLECTION. FULL OF BRIGHT COLORS, LOTS OF DRAPPERY AND BLACK AND GOLD...

AS WE WERE GETTING READY TO LAND, I HAD TO PUT HOT CUPS ON MY EARS AND CHEW GUM LIKE CRAZY INTENSIVE!!!! IT ALWAYS HAPPENS TO ME!

THE FIRST THING I SAW WHEN I GOT OFF THE PLANE WAS A BAGGAGE MAN WEARING A VERY FURRY HAT - I GUESS THAT MEANS IT IS VERY COLD! I THOUGHT! THEN AS SOON AS WE WERE OUT OF THE HALLWAY, THE FIRST THING TO SEE IN FRONT OF MY EYES WAS A SPA!! ONLY IN NEW YORK! JUST IN CASE YOU NEED A TOUCH UP ON YOUR NAILZIES BEFORE GETTING INTO THE REAL WORLD OF NYC!

Spring Looks Photo Shoot

TODAY WAS SO MUCH FUN!

We had a photo shoot with about 60 girls - all wearing my designs!

Before everyone arrived, Bella Thorne came for me to do a private fitting with her!

I made her one of my fabulous "bow" dresses and .... well, ... it was a bit big in the waist so she came for me to fix it!

The Today Show producers were filming us.... Bella Thorne said she looks up to me, even though I am younger than her! She said she loves my designs!

Well, off I go to NYC for Fashion Week... I gotta go pack!!!!!!

I can't wait to see all the pics of everyone who came for the photo shoot!

The photographer, aka my Dad, says they should be up on the website soon!

BY THE TIME WE GOT HOME, I WALKED INTO THE HOUSE AND THE FIRST THING I SAW WAS A HUGE BOX FROM SINGER SEWING MACHINES! THEY SENT ME AN AWESOME "CONFIDENCE" MACHINE! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? SINGER WANTS TO SPONSOR ME SO THEY SENT ME THIS DREAM MACHINE!

THE PERFECT DAY

Today was a perfect day!

Perfecto! Parfait! If you know what I mean!

The rain stopped.

I hung out with my friend for awhile.

Then... off to F&S Fabric Store! OMG !

Just wait til you see what I got!

Before we knew it, it had been 2 hours that I had been looking at fabrics!

I could have stayed so much longer but Marie, the super nice lady who helps me there,

realized she was hungry and needed to go eat! Well of course. It was now 3:30 pm.

I felt bad for her so I kinda hurried. I couldn't help it when the other super nice lady there, the Owner named Shirley, started to show me the Georgio Armani stretch/silks and the $1000 per yard sequined fabric. Yep! Can you imagine ? One thousand dollars per yard. WOW! Some day!

As soon as we left with my huge bag of remnants, my mom and I decided we were hungry too! Steakburger at Apple Pan (and a little banana cream pie, ssshhhhh...)

to end a perfect afternoon! As we were driving home, I got great news from my brother! For the second year in a row, Phil Mickelson gave him one of his very own golf balls that he was playing with at the Northern Trust Open at Riviera Country Club.

You see, fabric makes me happy. Receiving golf balls from Mickelson makes my borther happy. What makes you happy? What makes a great day for you?

Chanel - my life, my inspiration.

My perfectly manicured nails cutting the fabric.

I am from a designer's point of view: sequin, leopard, and metallic.

But truly: My life, my everything is fashion.

Wow! What a week! Lots of fun and exciting stuff of the designing side of things for me... I will tell you about everything once it is all absolutely for real!

HAITI...

I was asked to create a dress for "Clothes off Our Back". This is a charity that raises money for all kinds of important causes. This one is to help people in Haiti.

I made a super cute dress (orange and pink and with a big silk flower) that was inspired by the dresses I made for Denise Richard's daughters.

Let's keep helping Haiti in any way we can!

MY GRANDPA ALMOST FAINTED

My grandpa told me an "OMG" story!

Here it is:

MY GRANDPA TOLD ME A STORY:

He went to my cousin's school the other day to watch his basketball game.

While he was looking for the game, he asked a little girl where the game might be.

The little girl, with two front teeth missing and about as tall as me, led him in the right direction.

Before this cute little girl walked away, she said "I like your shirt" to my grandpa.

After my grandpa said "Oh, thank you," he said to the little girl "Do you like fashion?"

Guess what she said?????

She said, .... "Oh yes! I love fashion! And my idol is Cecilia Cassini! She is ten years old and already a fashion designer!"

My grandpa almost fainted! Good thing he didn't.

OMG!!!!!

Homework???????

Wow.... another crew came! I guess Germany really loves fashion!

OMG ! My mom picked me up from school and said, "I hope you don't have too much homework today!" I actually had tons that day :(((

Off we went to Tough Cookies to meet Anna-Barbara and Daniel and the crew! They wanted to see all the new pieces that I made. They loved, loved, loved!!!!! the Valentine inspired collection! I love it too!

After that, we came home. Anna was so interested to see how I could create and complete a design in front of her! I did one ! I think she loved it! She wanted to wear it - just a bit too small for her since I made it for me!

Off to bed... just a little late (11:30 pm)... sssshhhh... homework not done. Hope I won't get in trouble with my teacher tomorrow. (He is super nice. I think he will understand!)

Bonjourno Italia!!!

Today I got to practice some of my Italian !

Valentina, a producer/reporter for Italian TV, came to interview and film me with her crew!

When she walked in, I couldn't believe how pretty and stylish she is!

Well, of course!

She is Italian!

Total fashionista she is! So of course, we got along great!

While she watched me design and create dresses, I looked at her fabulous outfit!

Loved her grey tights and jean shorts! Sooooooo Italian!

It sure made me feel great that even Valentina would love one of my masterpieces!

Off to work (that is the sewing room)... I go...

Can you believe another German TV network wanted to do a story on me!

Dagmar and her crew came to the house today after school !

When I showed them my sewing and designing room (which used to be the play/yoga room),

Dagmar couldn't believe I had made so many new pieces since the first German TV piece...

I did a little fashion show for them , trying on lots of my new dresses... walking on a runway! Funny, because it was on my front yard on the grass... I am sure it will look good on tv!

Dagmar was super nice! Besides fashion, she likes yoga! So my mom and I had other things to chat with her about too!

How do you say "down dog" in German?

MOOD???????

THE SEASON PREMIERE OF PROJECT RUNWAY SURE GOT ME IN THE MOOD!

The best part of the show was when the new designers got to run through Central Park and grab as many rolls of fabric as they wanted. Can you imagine? OMG ! I would go crazy! That would be one of the best things that could ever happen to me .... well, you know what I mean, right? Going to the fabric store - especially MOOD - is one of my favorite things to do! Better than the candy store and defs better than Disneyland! Well, watching those designers run through Central Park grabbing everything they wanted, made me think about what I would like to grab from the fabric store! I mean, it was kinda getting to be time to start a spring and summer collection! So,... lucky me! I went to MOOD this weekend and... VOILA ! I can't wait to show you what I actually chose - since I did NOT get to get everything I wanted!!!! I had to chose just a few yards of fabric but, I think I got some fab stuff! Off to designing I go!

On TV in Germany

Look how cool, A german TV decided to do a story on me, my family and my designs...It was very fun and very new to me... it aired tonight on their program...you can see it by clicking here:

TOKIDOKI !!! omg ! WOW!

What a night I had! I got invited to the Tokidoki party that launched the Karl Lagerfeld doll! It was so exciting for me...anything about Karl Lagarfeld is exciting for me! I love love LOVE Tokidoki because it is so artsy and I love the Japanese touch to it all! Then to top it off: A Karl Lagerfeld doll????? OMG... What could be more amazing. I mean, I am not really into dolls - except the Carolle baby dolls I collected as a little girl. But a Karl Lagerfeld doll is totally different! Karl is the fabulous man with the white ponytail who designs for Chanel! Yep. Chanel.... So when I got home from school and finished my homework, I had just a few minutes before tennis practice (which I had to go to before Tokidoki)..... and guess what? Well, my sewing machine was staring at me and I got inspired! I made this outfit to wear especially to Tokidoki! What do you think? I love it! So did everyone at the Tokidoki event! The night just got better and better! The owner of Tokidoki took me around and introduced me to everyone there! I met Simone, the Italiano artist of Tokidoki, so cool!!!!!!!!!! Then guess who? Nicky Hilton. She was super nice, she told me she "loved" my outfit! I have to say the best part of the night was "shopping" with Rudy and getting the very special and collectible special edition Karl Lagerfeld doll! I know! Can you believe it! It is now sitting on a very special shelf in my sewing room! I think I will forever be inspired! photoshoot with all of my trunkshow friends !

What a fun day it was! A photoshoot planned especially for my "trunkshow friends"
Everyone (well almost!!!!) who bought a "Cecilia Cassini" original came to have their
photo taken in their new piece thast they bought at the store Tough Cookies where I had my first trunck show!
Even some new friends came and wore new designs that I had sewed since the Trunk Show!
It was super fun! We got to have our hair done !

TONITE WAS THE NIGHT OF THE DIANE VON FURSTENBURG FASHION SHOW!
ONE OF MY DREAMS COMING TRUE!
NOT ONLY DID I GET TO SEE THE FASHION SHOW BUT I ACTUALLY SAT ON THE FRONT ROW!!!! THERE I WAS! RIGHT THERE! SO AMAZING!

I HAVE SEEN SO MANY FASHION SHOWS IN THE MOVIES OR ON TV BUT OMG!
THIS WAS THE REAL THING!
I WAS RIGHT THERE! IN FRONT! ON THE FIRST ROW.... INCREDIBLE...

THIS FASHION SHOW WAS FOR THE SUSAN KOMEN FASHION FOR THE CURE CHARITY.
THEY RAISE A LOT OF MONEY TO HELP GET RID OF BREAST CANCER. I DO NOT REALLY UNDERSTAND IT SO WELL BUT I DO KNOW BREAST CANCER IS BAD. LOTS OF PEOPLE DIE FROM IT BECAUSE THEY DONT CATCH IT EARLY ENOUGH. ...

IMAGINE! DIANE VON FURSTENBURG HELPING THIS CHARITY AND ME, CECILIA CASSINI, AT THE SAME TIME.
I AM SO GLAD THAT THIS NICE LADY "MICAH" LOVED THE DRESS I DESIGNED AND DONATED! SHE WON IT!
